Geographic variation in coronary artery bypass and hip and knee replacement surgeries in the Maritime provinces
This report shares findings from one of the earliest cross-provincial MSSU projects that compared models of surgical care in the Maritimes. The descriptive study compared rates across geography and over time of a regionalized surgical service–coronary artery bypass graft or CABG–with those of major orthopaedic surgeries (hip and knee replacements), which are offered at numerous hospitals across the Maritime provinces.
