Building a culture of learning

Capacity building is an important investment in the future of patient-oriented research. It means everyone involved is trained and working collaboratively towards the common goal of inclusive, high quality health care and better patient outcomes. Through our education and training, we connect and empower you to engage and conduct meaningful patient-oriented research in the Maritimes. All upcoming training opportunities, including those hosted by our data centres, will be posted on our our Events page.

Patient-Oriented Research Training Practicum

The MSSU Patient-Oriented Research Training Practicum builds on the on the modules of the CIHR-IMHA’s e-learning: A How-to-Guide to Patient Engagement. In our free, 2.5-hour workshop, you will put the theory from the CIHR e-learning modules into practice. This workshop is co-led by a Patient/Public Partner who shares valuable insight into the evolution and practice of patient engagement in research.

Who should attend?

,,

I found the POR Practicum to have been the perfect next step after the CIHR-IMHA modules as it tackled the practical application of patient-oriented research with concrete examples and provided an opportunity to discuss with researchers from many different backgrounds. It was very interactive and builds directly from everything covered in the online modules.
