What is a learning Health System (LHS)?
A Learning Health System (LHS) is a partnership between research, clinical care, policy, and patients. It is a combination of a health system and a research system that is:
- Anchored on patients and focused on improving their care experiences and health
- Driven by timely data and evidence
- Bolstered by governance that is aligned with LHS goals and provides appropriate supports
- Based on a culture of best practices (Lavis, 2018)
To advance this work across the Maritimes, the MSSU has developed a graphic and webinar series to support LHS understanding and application.
