Why is the number of Nova Scotians unable to find a regular family doctor rising? Changes in factors affecting Nova Scotia’s supply of and requirements for family doctors, 2006 – 2016.
This report shares findings from a study focused on understanding the causes of an increase in unattached patients in Nova Scotia in 2016, by looking at changes in the factors affecting the supply of and requirements for family doctors between 2006 and 2016. The same approach could be used on an ongoing basis, as the reasons so many Nova Scotians are unable to find a family doctor are likely to change over time and may be different now than they were when this study began in 2016.
