Patient-Oriented Research Practicum

Hands-on training for meaningful patient engagement in research

About the Practicum

The Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit offers a free 2.5-hour online Patient-Oriented Research (POR) practicum for anyone (researchers, people with lived experience, trainees, clinicians etc.) who has completed the four modules of the CIHR-IMHA’s e-learning A How-to-Guide to Patient Engagement in Research and wants to learn more about POR in the Maritimes.

This interactive training is offered monthly and focuses on
putting theory into practice—equipping participants with introductory skills and
confidence to begin or strengthen patient engagement in research.

Co-led by a Patient/Public Partner, each workshop brings valuable lived experience to the conversation and emphasizes engagement practices relevant to the Maritimes.
