This study uses 2021 survey data from Mental Health Research Canada to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health in the Maritimes. The prevalence of those with unmet mental health needs during the pandemic was estimated and compared to pre-pandemic levels, and sociodemographic factors associated with these needs were identified. The study also describes the mental health characteristics of those affected and examines how pandemic-related stressors, such as social isolation and fear of job loss impacted this group.
