Finishing strong: CONNECT conference presentations in 2019

The CONNECT project is nearing completion and the team has been busy sharing their experience and findings with health and social service providers, policy-makers and the Autistic community—an important aim of this three-year project.

In 2019, the CONNECT team participated in five major conferences and events that increased CONNECT’s national and international exposure and contributed to the legacy of this innovative collaboration.

Canadian Autism Leadership Summit — April 2019, Ottawa, Ontario

Aaron Bouma, one of CONNECT’s patients advisors, presented a poster, Innovative Dissemination of Research Findings by Autistic Adults, at the 2019 Canadian Autism Leadership Summit which was organized by the Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorders Alliance (CASDA). The bilingual poster focused on the filming and production of the short-length CONNECT video.

  • The second poster, A Source of Life-Giving “Autistic Oxygen”: The CONNECT Project and its Lessons for Future Multistakeholder Research on Adult Autism, focused on the patient engagement dimension of the CONNECT project.
