Scaling with Compassion: Exploring patient partners’ perspectives on sustaining compassionate care while scaling digital health innovations

Location: Canada
Role description: Interview Participant
Deadline to apply: April 30, 2026

Are you a Partner with Lived/Living Experience (patient, caregiver advisors/partners, etc.) engaged with a team bringing a digital health program or tool to a new location or population in Canada?

If yes, we want to hear from you!

We are conducting a research study to understand how compassion is or is not considered when a digital health program or tool is being brought to a new location or population.

Digital health is the use of technology for improving the health and wellbeing of people at individual and population levels, as well as enhancing the care of patients through intelligent processing of clinical and genetic data.1 Examples include telemedicine or virtual care, remote patient monitoring, health records or patient portals, artificial intelligence. We are interested in when digital health programs are brought to a new location or setting, which means that a program that was tested in one setting is now used in 2 or more settings (such as primary care clinics or multiple hospitals). We are interested in learning about programs that are being “spread” or “scaled” to multiple locations. This could also mean a program which began with one community (i.e., Southeast Asians in the Peel Region of Ontario), is now expanding to include other communities.

What’s Involved?

If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete a short survey where you will be asked a few questions about yourself. We will then schedule a virtual interview to talk about your experience with engaging with a team that is bringing a digital health program or tool to a new location or population, and if/how compassion is considered.
