Patient and Caregiver Engagement in a Health Equity-Focused Pediatric Learning Health System

Researchers at IWK Health are conducting interviews to understand patients’ and caregivers’ needs, values, and perspectives related to engagement in the Pediatric Learning Health System (LHS) at IWK Health. The LHS will bring together clinical care, policy, research, and patients and families. This study will help shape patient and caregiver engagement to ensure Peds-LHS responds to the health needs of the Maritimes’ most vulnerable children and youth. Findings will centre patients and caregivers’ priorities and perceived barriers and enablers regarding LHS engagement.

Eligibility

Youth (aged 13-18) or caregivers who have current or previous (within 1 year) experience being engaged in the IWK health system or in pediatric research. This could include but is not limited to being a patient or caregiver partner on a research team for a pediatric study or being a member of an IWK advisory, council or committee.

Time Commitment

Each interview will last approximately 30-60 minutes. We will work with around your schedule for booking.

Compensation

Compensation will be offered.
