The proposed doctoral research will study the implementation of One Person One Record at IWK Health and the experiences of health system users. It seeks to study a digital health system transformation that will centralize patient medical records to optimize patient care. For health system transformation to be meaningful, it requires the patient voice. The researchers would like to recruit Patient Family Advisors and Patient Partners to be part of the research team prior to starting the research study in order to integrate their perspectives throughout all stages of the work. For example, patient perspectives will be included to refine research objectives, co-create data collection instruments, to aid in pilot testing of data collection instruments, collaborate on analysis and developing a strategy for dissemination to patient and public partners.
