The Engagement of People with Lived Experience of Dementia (EPLED) aims to engage persons with dementia and care partners in Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) research – not as study subjects, but as collaborators in planning, conducting, and communicating CCNA research. Compensation will be offered.



Who can apply?

  • Persons living with dementia and those with diverse perspectives (eg. immigrants and newcomers to Canada, LGBTQIA+, Francophones etc.)
  • Live in a Maritime province
  • Friends, family or caregivers of people living with dementia

Time commitment:
Terms are two-years, with possibility for renewing to another two-years. Time commitments vary depending on Advisory Group member interest and type of research engagement — we are flexible and encourage members to honour their own energy levels.

About EPLED:

The Engagement of People with Lived Experience of Dementia (EPLED) is a program introduced in 2020 for the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) phase II.

Through this program, we will work to enable those with lived experience of dementia – persons with dementia and their care partners (i.e., friends, family and caregivers) – to be meaningfully and actively involved in the research process, including governance, priority setting, conducting research and knowledge translation.
