This project is a patient-oriented study designed to centre the voices and lived experiences of transgender, non-binary, and Two-Spirit individuals in shaping more inclusive breast/chest cancer screening practices. Through a community-informed survey, the research will explore how gender diverse patients understand cancer risk, navigate screening, and experience the healthcare system, identifying barriers and opportunities for more affirming care. Patient Partners will be actively engaged in reviewing and launching the survey to ensure it is respectful, relevant, and reflective of community priorities. By grounding the research in patient experience, this study aims to answer questions that matter to those most affected, helping refine provincial screening guidelines, inform provider education, and ultimately improve equitable access and outcomes for gender-diverse people.
