The Nova Scotia Health Cancer Care Program is looking for people with experience or interest in the cancer system to be part of a project that will understand how to make physical activity part of cancer care in rural communities.
Role of the Patient Partner:
- Help formulate interview questions for patient participants.
- Ensure language is clear and accessible to patients.
- Offer insights based on lived experience on implementation process and outcomes.
- Identify potential issues or sensitivities from a patient perspective.
- Participate in qualitative data analysis and contribute to converting qualitative data into actionable knowledge.
- Present results of satisfaction surveys and interviews in meetings with stakeholders within NSH.
Eligibility
Do you have:
- A personal experience or interest in the Nova Scotia cancer system?
- Do you live in, or have understanding of the needs to rural communities?
- An ability to communicate the perspective of patients and families?
- The time to attend at least 8-10 meetings per year?
- Are you 18 years or older?
Time commitment
The project will span two years, with most meetings expected to be online. If any in-person
meetings are needed, the patient partner will be informed in advance. Initially, we anticipate one meeting per month during the first two quarters of the project, transitioning to quarterly meetings afterward.
