New Brunswick’s Horizon Health Network partners with the MSSU on new patient registry
On January 23, 2018 New Brunswick’s Horizon Health Network (HHN) launched a new online research registry A Cure is on the Horizon. The registry was created in collaboration with the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) Saint John staff Dr. Bryn Robinson and Jacquelyn Legere, the Regulatory Compliance Manager with the HHN’s Research Services.
The Cure is on a Horizon registry is unique to HHN whose research services support over 700 research studies in diseases such as dementia, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
The registry provides an opportunity for patients interested in research to provide their contact information* as well as the areas of research that is of interest to them – whether it is to participate in a clinical trial or collaborate with a research team to develop and conduct a new study. Once a patient registers, a member of the research team will contact them with available opportunities matching their indicated area(s) of interest. In just the past three months the registry already has 60+ patients registered.
For more information on the A Cure is on the Horizon registry contact Dr. Bryn Robison, Clinical Manager, MSSU at bryn.robison@horizonnb.ca or visit www.horizonNB.ca/cure.
*All patient information is kept in a secure database and participants can choose to remove their information at any time.
