Youth and Family Specific Engagement in Research (UNITE): A Framework Development Project (Qualitative Study)

Location: Canada
Role description: Interview Participant
Deadline to apply: May 31, 2026

We are looking for youth and family partners in research to participate in a research study on youth and family engagement in research.

Our team is studying how youth and families are engaged in health research as partners. Including youth and families in research helps make sure that the findings are relevant, meaningful, and reflect their real experiences, needs, and priorities. There are patient engagement models, theories and frameworks that researchers use to involve patients in research. However, many of these are not designed for youth and family specific engagement in research, thereby limiting their use.

We are conducting interviews to better understand which components of patient engagement models, theories, and frameworks are most meaningful to youth and families. Youth and family partners are actively collaborating with us throughout this study. Insights from this study will directly inform the development of future engagement practices that are tailored to youth and families.

  • Living in Canada

Time Commitment

Participants will take part in a 45–60 minute online one-on-one interview.

Participants will receive an honorarium to acknowledge their time and contributions.
