Canadian Parent Advisory Group

Location: Canada
Role description: Committee Member
Deadline to apply: September 30, 2026

We are looking to partner with parents across Canada who are raising children or teens experiencing disruptive behaviours to help us shape research ideas and co-create practical resources for families. Main responsibilities include sharing feedback on research priorities, reviewing drafts of materials, suggesting new ideas for tools and resources families might need, and ensuring resources are clear and useful for parents. Participation involves 4 online meetings throughout a one year period and light feedback by email between meetings. This project is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Planning and Dissemination Grant.

Eligibility

Living in Canada, a parent or primary caregiver raising a child or teen experiencing disruptive behaviours (such as aggression, defiance, lying, or stealing). No background in research is needed.

Time commitment

The project starts now; the first meeting will be held once the group is formed, projected to be this summer, and will end 1 year from that. The engagement will take a year, and participation involves 6 to 8 hours throughout the entire year. Participants will attend 4 online meetings in total and will provide some light feedback through emails between meetings.

Compensation

$25 an hour and up to $200 total for the entire year

How to apply

Only those selected will be contacted.
