SUMMARY:Lunch and Learn: Data Services at HDNS
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this session is to answer your questions regarding how researchers\, students and data partners can engage with HDNS and take advantage of all they have to offer. In this seminar we will provide an overview of the data services available at Health Data Nova Scotia (HDNS). This will include information about the data available at HDNS\, how to submit a data access request\, what happens after a data request is approved and more. We will also discuss the data access process when applying for data from multiple provinces at once. \n \nHosted by Katelyn Frizzell\, Research Data Navigator\, Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit\, Health Data Nova Scotia \nKatelyn works with the team at Health Data Nova Scotia (HDNS) to support researchers through the data access process\, provides navigation for databases\, and coordinates among researchers\, analysts\, and data access committees. Katelyn has been involved with research for more than 10 years. Before her current role\, she worked as a research assistant in the animal welfare field\, mostly studying laying hens\, and in muscle biochemistry research. Katelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Honours) from Dalhousie University and a Master of Science in Physical Education and Recreation from the University of Alberta.

SUMMARY:Keeping Up with KT: From pilot to practice
DESCRIPTION:At the core of knowledge translation is a desire to move evidence into policy and practice—putting what we learn from research to work in real-world settings. The Healthy Seniors Pilot Project (HSPP) involves more than 65 community and government applied research initiatives\, exploring how to better support older adults in New Brunswick and beyond. Many of these pilot projects are moving into a new phase of work that focuses on sustainability\, spread and scale. \nLearn more about the HSPP and the unique approaches that two HSPP projects are taking to sustain their projects\, expanding the impact of their research for public good in this session of Keeping Up With Knowledge Translation.
